Welcome to ‘Het Vrouwentoilet’ (the women’s bathroom). A magical place where new friendships are formed, where you are not allowed to (drunk) text your ex, and where everyone will collectively admire your lipgloss. But the women’s bathroom is much more than that: a place away from the male gaze, where we, as women, do not have to censor ourselves or be ashamed. For the LGBTQ+ community, it is a complicated place: confrontation, eye focused, and debates. The women’s bathroom is a reflection of our complex society. Liyah brought ‘Het Vrouwentoilet’ to Clubhouse first.

There she opened rooms that reflected the warmth and empowerment we have experienced in the women’s bathroom of clubs. In these rooms, she discussed masturbation, sex, and relationships. However, womanhood is much more than that. And so you see, the best ideas are created on the toilet.
‘Het Vrouwentoilet’ is an accessible intersectional feminist (womanist) podcast where guests get to decide what we discuss. It’s an open conversation about women-related topics between the guest(s) and Liyah. The goal of the podcast? Fighting against stigma and taboo in the living room and beyond.
